FROM ATTENDANCE TO YOUR TRAINING RECORD
Make your EMS rounds count toward renewal.
EMS rounds can help you build clinical knowledge and complete eligible continuing education. Credit depends on the specific session, its approval and your certification requirements—not simply its appearance on a calendar.
Confirm the credit before you attend.
Ask the host for the approved hours, course approval number and eligible certification levels. Check with your training officer or EMS region about the appropriate National, State/Local or Individual component. Review Massachusetts EMS continuing education guidance.
Keep your completion certificate.
Follow the host’s attendance and completion requirements. Save documentation showing your name, the course title, date, provider and credited hours. A calendar invitation is not proof of completed education.
Record completed education in NREMT.

Massachusetts EMS rounds: common questions
EMS rounds are educational sessions focused on prehospital care, clinical topics and case review. Morbidity and mortality (M&M) rounds examine patient care and lessons for future practice. Each host sets the topic, intended audience and attendance requirements.
Eligible, approved education may count toward recertification. Confirm the approval number, hours and applicable component with the host and your training officer. Not every session qualifies for every level or requirement. Check current Massachusetts CE standards.
The calendar includes publicly listed sessions with different formats and registration rules. Open the individual event to check fees, online access, location and advance registration. Do not assume that all sessions are free or open without registration.
No. Adding a calendar event helps you plan attendance. After you complete an eligible session, record it in your NREMT account and keep the completion documentation. The Google Calendar does not transfer credits to NREMT.
Massachusetts renewal has its own required steps. Completing a NREMT training profile or seeing an updated NREMT expiration date does not by itself complete Massachusetts recertification. Follow the current Massachusetts EMT, AEMT and paramedic renewal instructions and check your individual expiration date.
